Update 3/31
Champions,
This week we roll out the rest of the announced Showdown IMPROVEMENTS.
The NEW Showdown Shop will go LIVE today with a great selection of helpful items.
- Players in League 4 to 15 will discover Shards for vital and impactful Entourages that help them progress and compete in events with their established rosters.
- League 16+ Shops contain rare Skill Plates and Superstar Shards now!
- Hall of Fame Tokens and Moments are no longer available in the Showdown Shop. Hall of Fame Tokens will be updated to be purchasable for Cash when trying to evolve your Superstars.
- We are continuing to work on updating the Showdown Shop and other Shops (Faction, Faction Boss, and Stipulation) to make rewards even more distinctive and exciting!
Updated Entourage Abilities
- Papa Shango now generates more Yellow Gems
- Erik “Viking Raiders” does more Blue Gem Damage
- You can find those Trainers in lower League Showdown Shops now!
Know your Rules!
- Use Superstars that meet the Rules and requirements to gain specific Boosts for that Superstar.
- Boost will affect Offense, Defense, or Both Teams.
- Only Superstars that meet the specific requirements for the rules will gain the Rules boosts.
- Higher Rule Boosts and more Rules can be activated in higher Divisions
- Rules Boosts do stack
- The boost modifiers apply after all the Superstar loadout boosts. This means that are the last to be factored in, just like with Steel Cage Rules.
The Career Showdown starting 3/31 will run for 2 weeks as we gather feedback and refine the rules. Starting 4/14, Career Showdown will shift to a 4-week format, with exciting new rules introduced at each reset.
Remember that the NEW Showdown experience is still in its early stages and demands our relentless commitment to deliver the BEST possible experience for you in WWE Champions! We carefully analyze the data and value your feedback to ensure we make the best choices for our Champions!
Hey Champions,
We are introducing MORE improvements designed to make Showdown more engaging, competitive, and rewarding for all players! Get ready to experiment with new team combinations and unleash devastating tag-team action like never before!
Please note:
The full features of this update, including the new Showdown Shop, will go live the week of 3/31!
We plan to roll out the update to all major platforms at the beginning of this week!
Here is a quick Summary of the improvements we have made already in R70:
- Matchmaking Revamp: We’ve fine-tuned matchmaking and reset mechanics so you’ll be matched against opponents at your skill level.
- Notoriety Reset Adjustments: Instead of dropping to the bottom at SD reset, players will initially be placed in divisions based on the roster and subsequent events based on past performance.
- New-Player Friendly: New “safe” notoriety leagues will help newer players become comfortable with the Showdown mode.
- Players in lower divisions do not lose notoriety when they lose battles, ensuring steady progress rather than frequent ranking drops.

Please note:
Screenshots are taken from a test environment. Text, numbers, items, and dates are subject to change! Some parts of the Update might still be WIP!

Coming Soon: Tag Team Tactics Evolved
Get ready to team up and show off your tag team skills in Showdown! We’re enhancing tag team gameplay to bring new strategy and excitement to your matches.

- Faster Tags: Some of your favorite Superstars will soon possess special perks that reduce their tag cooldowns, letting you swap in and out of the ring more frequently. This will open up new combo possibilities and keep your opponents on their toes.
- For this, we are introducing two NEW buffs:
- InitialTagCountdown: This buff will give you a head start by reducing the first tag cooldown at the start of the match. Get your tag team rolling right from the bell!
- TagCountdown: This powerful buff will reduce all tag cooldowns throughout the battle, allowing for rapid tag-ins and devastating tag team maneuvers.
- For this, we are introducing two NEW buffs:
- Hot Tag Abilities: Prepare for the “Hot Tag”! Certain upcoming Superstars will have abilities that trigger when tagged into the match.
- These abilities could include things like:
- Increased MP gain for all moves.
- Stunning your opponent.
- Boosting your gem damage.
- These Hot Tag abilities will reward strategic tagging and create exciting moments in your matches.
- The first Superstar with a Hot Tag ability will be released in April!

These combat changes will deepen the tag team experience, encourage new strategies, and make every match more exciting.

The Showdown Overhaul requires a completely fresh start for all WWE Champions players. Thus, we plan to RESET everyone’s Showdown Coins inventory. Before this reset, you can still redeem all your earned Showdown Coins on a special Showdown Coins Prize Wall for Showdown Shop items.
